Making Peace with Grief on the Golf Course

by Michael Croley, edited by Ben Boskovich for Esquire.com, December 2022.

In December 2022, I worked with the writer Michael Croley on a follow-up to his September 2021 essay about losing his brother, Tim, and taking his ashes to Pinehurst No. 2. Michael’s initial piece received mention in the year’s anthology of best sports writing, edited by J.A. Adande.

This story found Michael on the trail once again, traveling to some of the world’s iconic golf courses, and connecting with other golfers who’ve lost loved ones. It’s a beautiful piece about grief, golf, and how community can get you through.
